update download question
In the brief instruction on the HB website it says that you must have a SD card reader/writer connected to your computer.Is this the same as the SD card slot that is on the computer now or do I have to get some external device? Found out I have two updates available for mine(788ci) today on the hummingbird website.Any help appreciated.

If your PC has a built in SD card reader it should work fine. Just download and save to your SD card.

Thanks a lot guys - I had never downloaded to an SD card and wasnt sure. All I have ever done with them is upload photos. If I clear off all the pics from the SD card will any card work? My unit has two slots - one has the hot maps card in it - is there any need to remove the hotmaps card before I insert the other one with the update?

You stated that you had 2 software verions for your unit. Just download the latest software and you will be fine. Just restore your defaults before you download the software.
