    Default Lowrance HDS ?

I've thinking of getting a HDS, but while checking on ebay,I noticed some were alot cheaper than others, but the ones with the cheaper prices had this description : (GPS+EGNOS+MSAS for non-Americas) is built right in. Also inside is the amazing, life-like and exclusive Insight USA™ (Navionics World Background map for non-Americas) What does NON-AMERICAS mean ???

These things are sold world wide so some are set up for different countries. It will not have the maps for north and south America. Also, some that are cheaper may just be depthfinders without GPS. Be sure to ask the seller about the maps if thats what you want. You can always buy the Navionics chips later if your interested in the maps.
The only way to have a good fishing spot is to make it yourself!

Are you sure that they won't be covered by warranty? Never heard that one before.

...unless they are an authorized dealer for Lowrance. Remember that some sell on Ebay and also owns a regular, legitament business.

customer service rep at lowrance told me that no one selling on auction sites were authorized.

just passing along what i was told.

rep said that no authorized dealers were to be selling on ebay.

Sounds like some BS. Shouldn't matter if it's a new unit that has never been registered. The more I hear about lowrance Customer service, the less I want to own them. Being undecided about what company to go with really sucks.

Just may have to go with Garmin.

Their website does not say that products will not be warrantied. It states that authorized retailers do not sell products directly in online auctions, and that online auction auction confirmations or sales receipts are not accepted for warranty verification.
