Mine had some bad grease on it that got dirt in it and would not let the slide move freely. I cleaned it all out and used some vaseline to re lube it and have not had a problem since then. I am guessing to make it turn to the right you have to really "stand on it" and hit high on the pedal to get it to eventually turn, or you can hold it down when it it working but have a delay.
I got 2 of these foot pedals and they both suck. You can get replacement boards from most dealers. Bout 60 bucks or so.

I still wouldn't trade mine for anything it is absolutly essential to the way I fish. It is a little aggrivating with the pedal but the autopilot I couldn't live without.

If people are pissed at the MK.What does one suggest for a replacement trolling motor that has a variable speed and a auto pilot option that we can use for trolling. REPLACING ANY OF THE BOARDS EITHER IN THE FOOT PEDAL OR CONTROL HEAD GET BE A PAIN IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT EVERY 1 OR TWO YEARS
