I tried the 1.5" shad molds this morning, I put the molds in a toaster oven at 275 while I got the plastic ready to shoot. They turned out fine, I think my main issue is my garage temp is in the 50s, I haven't got my little shop built yet for doing my jigs that will be heated and setup strickly for doing this. Usually haven't shot much this time of year but had some new molds and combos I wanted for upcoming trips. Thanks for all the help and ideas. I use MF regular plastic and also will have a guy I know at a machine fan shop probably open the throats for my dual injector, my 2" mold came with a laminate plate I was gonna play with first.

Yes crappieseeker, that is the mold I purchased, great looking bait. I would hate to guess how many molds I have purchased from Rick, I prefer his molds over all he others, and I own some from all of them. He does a great job, gets to you fast, and will be there if you need him. I didn't contact him on this as I felt it was an issue I was creating, not the molds problem. I don't want my problems to reflect on the manufacture of the mold, I think you will not be disappointed with this mold if you decide to purchase it.
I have bought several molds from him in the past and they were all good. I never had a problem out of any of them. I sold off most of my molds though because I was trying to get out of making baits. However this bait from this mold has caught me more fish lately than any of the baits on the market. I am trying to decide if I want to pull the plug and buy the mold and make some more.
It is not the molds it is something we are doing. I have both the jacobs stinger shad mold 2" and the bears stinger shad 2". The Bears baits mold has a much larger sprew. I think cold molds has more to do with it. I think the plastic begins to cool at the tail so fast on the cold molds that the air does not get a chance to escape and it concentrates in a pocket on the sides of the main body of theses baits thus giving the baits dimples. I think hot molds will help eliminate this.CF

yes I do have the 40 cavity and I do not have any problems also have a laminate plate which I do not use our used dual injection either way I still don't have any problems. I asked Rick to build a 40 cavity baby shed Stanger mold for me and now he has them available on his site I've had other multi cavity molds made by Rick that I don't have any problems with either if I do I preheat the molds at about 325 and this is for real fine details on some plastic baits going back to the 40 cavity mold I shot over 3000 one guy last year all of them come out perfect using the 40 cavity mold.

like I told you try to heat your molds up also I'm curious on what type of plastic you guys are using to shoot sometimes a plastic that you are using may be to hard you may want to go to a softer plastic I realize that they won't hold up quite as well but you will get a good shooting was some of the softer plastics but I suggest strongly that you try to heat up your molds I do not have any problems like I've mentioned with use and Jacob's 40 cavity baby shad Stanger in 2 inch we also have four of the 10 cavity molds and I still don't have any problem with them.
Snake River is right, I have not changed anyway I'm doing the plastic but I am preheating the mold and the baits are looking great. There is always a little panic when you invest that much in a mold and have problems, now its time to shoot some more and get to fishing.
