[QUOTE=DaBehr;1800189]Mo...sorry...but you didn't type slow enough for me to understand Do you put the aluminum plate inside the mold...and clamp both sides shut onto it? Do you cut it down just big enough to cover the cavities...but not the vents?

You end up with 2 halves...correct? Take one out inject...but the other back in...inject.

Yep, you got it. I cut the plate to fit the mold (tin snips) so it will stand in it's on and I cut a notch in the plate so my injector will go in to the hole and that's about it. The plate is thin enough that it doesn't affect the closing. On Jacobs molds I drill holes in the plate for the alinement pins. The good thing about shooting two halfs is you can use any color combo you want. Some days I'll shoot half baits for hours of he same color so I can do different combos at any time. If you like a pink laminate then shoot 200 halfs and that way you can do pink and black or pink and white ect....

    Mo,

How do you keep your baits from lifting up and getting the second color on both sides of the first color? I have tried it but about 30% of my baits don't come out right. Do you leave the runner in the mold before you reshoot the second color?

    Default Worked like a charm

Mo... I tried that thin aluminum plate setup this evening and it worked perfect on my 3" sting ray molds.
    Thanks!!!

I've been using the laminate plates that Caney Creek offers for many of their molds and they work great. Make sure your bait is firmly implanted...and then inject very slowly. Some baits fit tighter than others...and seem to work better.

i cut off the plastic at the injestion hole and leave the horizontal runner going to the baits, works slick but you need to leave half the runner if you want it to work every time [QUOTE=lcookie;1801444]
