Yep, you got it. I cut the plate to fit the mold (tin snips) so it will stand in it's on and I cut a notch in the plate so my injector will go in to the hole and that's about it. The plate is thin enough that it doesn't affect the closing. On Jacobs molds I drill holes in the plate for the alinement pins. The good thing about shooting two halfs is you can use any color combo you want. Some days I'll shoot half baits for hours of he same color so I can do different combos at any time. If you like a pink laminate then shoot 200 halfs and that way you can do pink and black or pink and white ect....
