    Good looking first shots.

    Three things that might help.
    1. The plastic needs to get up to 350 to react and catalyze. If it doesn't form a lot of little bubbles you are not hot enough.
    2. Leaving the baits in the mold for a minute or so should be long enough unless the mold is very hot.
    3. Make sure you don't get any water anywhere near the 300+ degree plastic;
    or reheat plastic to 300+ that has been wet until completely dried. Steam and hot plastic is a recipe for disaster.

    Neat use of a clamp. That injector nozzle straight from the cup was HOT wasn't it. ( Don't ask me how I know ).

    I appreciate the fine tips you just posted. I know they will help me as well as others on this forum. Thank you. Yes, the nozzle straight from the cup and the coat hanger wire burned. I like the tip on holding the nozzle end. Guess my gloves will be full of hot plastic.

    I wonder why they did not put a set screw or some other means of locking the nozzle onto the injector so it would not blow off ?

    You learn how much pressure to use with that injector. Basstackle and Jacobs injectors have a locking pin to keep the tips on.

    I am not selling Fatman. I took the challenge from Snake River to try and learn something new since I could not tie as much due to arthritis etc. I am liking this new skill and will try it again on Monday.

    Congrats on your new hobby Ship. Looks like you are well on your way. The baits look ready to fish and sounds like you are enjoying your time with plastics. Thumbs Up

    Thanks Stump. Yes. It was an eye opening experience and yes, that injector is really hot.
