I think they look really cool! Those wigglin' arms ought to drive the fish nuts! One suggestion: maybe try putting just a little of that rubber out the tails for added length and action on the back end? Might even produce a neat 'core shot' effect...

I do not know how to do core shots.

you can do it a couple of different ways I think that you are not ready for that yet but we will definitely give you all the details on how to do it it would definitely work good on that particular bait that you have now when you get Grady to make 50-50 colors let me know and then we will go into core shot. I can probably give you the basics I have done it with a syringe and needle and I used spike it the other way is my that you shoot half-year cavity with the dividing plate and put a small stream of plastic down the middle of your body put the molds back together and shoot the other side.

ok. Now you are messing with my mind Bob. You said do not use syringes before as they are too dangerous. Would I would have to take the finished bait out of the cavity, find some way to hold it to inject it without burning myself, load a syringe with the other hand, hold the syringe and the bait with gloves to not burn myself again, and shoot it somehow???? I do not see any areas where a syringe would inject the bait while it is still in the mold. I also have no earthly idea what a dividing plate is. I am still taking baby steps here. I will check Bears Baits and see what they have. Not saying I am ready for it yet...but a look see is free.

sorry to confuse you the syringe does not have hot plastic in it Spike- it which is cold and you stick the needle all way down the middle of the bait and gradually squeeze the die out in the middle as you pull the needle back out I believe that I posted on this quite a while back in the bait is not in the mold when you do this. The other method that I told you about I would have to show you and pictures I do not probably put it in words good enough to understand .a dividing plate is a solid sheet of metal put up against the cavities which you're doing is you're shooting half of your mold you take the dividing plate away and put them all back together and shoot the other half. But I do not use a dividing plate I turn my mold around and use the backside we had this discussion on a other post here a while back about cleaning the surface of the backside of the mold and also dividing plates this will probably confuse you more yet but hang in there.

Mike....what Bob is trying to say is.....You block off half the mold and inject it with one color....then you unblock the blocked half and inject again with another color ...... then you will have a two colored bait.

I don't know how to either, but I've seen them and I think they're neat looking. I wasn't suggesting that you perform a core shot, but that if you put one of those rubber strands in the tail (not perpendicular, but through the tail and sticking out a little), when you poured the plastic around it it might look like a core shot (i.e. have a core shot effect). If you look at the picture below, you can see that this bait has an inner color, with another color around it - this is a core shot. Just a thought, didn't mean to get open a can of worms... :D
