I'll guarantee that you will increase your catch by using the loop knot . It has been proven many times over and I highly recommend it to anyone that fish a jig like I said before I have been fishing this way we jigs ever since I was a teenager . It was taught to me by a very professional crappie fishermen I considered him number one. This guy was something else he used a eight to have foot fly rod with monofilament line. I could say one thing that he was definitely knows his stuff about fishing with a jig. Remembering back to them when we only had marabou jigs. They were not Chanel body. They were only marabou tied on behind the head which we called a dull fly at that time. We had three basic colors white, black, yellow, that's all there was 99% of the time. We used white. There is something about those old jigs that definitely caught fish. I have probably caught thousands of crappie on them . Mostly a 1/32oz. This is when there were no plastics at all . Do you remember the first plastic skirt that come out did you know that I was one of the first ones to field test them. These were Canyon skirt jigs now you know the rest of the story . Which are still ranked number one with many other crappie fishermen today.
