    you know I ain't had me any grits since I was lil , my dad and that side of my family were from Louisiana and lots of what they ate I got to eat as well . they were not rich folk and ate lots of black eyed peas and cornbread and grits and the other more affordable types of vittles . Any fish that wasn't 2 foot long was just bait to them peeps ....and ...
    I always ate my grits with butter , milk and cinnamon and sugar ....sometimes we subbed with honey instead of the sugar ....but...
    dad and pappy threw everything on the plate in their grits ,,,,,just saying

    No sweet grits but what you're calling affordable food is fantastic eating anytime here. No caviar for me but Red Beans & Rice with either a pork chop, pork sausage, ham hock, or fried Catfish and cornbread on the side.............priceless!

    This particular breakfast my bride grabbed the 1/2 cup measuring cup instead of the 1/3 measuring cup so Mega Grits portion the extra Tamale was needed to balance the plate.
