Sorry to hear that. I have had reflux for years. Some days are better than others. Soft drinks, bananas and tomatoes seem to be the worst foods for me. I can eat most foods if they aren't just loaded with grease.

Just been diagnosed with GERD and the diet has had to change accordingly. No spicy foods, seasonings and instead of 3 meals a day, 6 small ones.
Got me rockin' on my heals cause I've always been a beans and taters kind of feller. Always liked my crappie fillets fried and just about any kind
of seasoning. But now, got to make some drastic changes. No more coffee, miller lite, chocolate cake and ice cream.
So I'm looking for some ways to cook the fillets without the spicy seasoning. Pepper will be missed. Would appreciate any recommendations you
may have to offer. Figgered the best place to look would be right here amongst the experts. Thanks.

Try doing your fish by taking them, rinse pat dry, coat with olive oil ( if you can use it ) then coat with regular shake and bake. Put on cookie sheet, bake for about 20 minutes at 400. I am not much on baked anything but this is pretty good. Really sorry to hear about your set back.
Hey RetiredRR We use just plain old Aunt Jamima yellow corn meal. Thaw out fillets, pat dry, put them in the shaker with the corn meal, put them in Crisco oil. Now I made myself hungry...Good Health & Fishing to you.
My wife puts "Lemon/pepper" you may want to just use sea salt on the whole crappie use pam or olive oil to keep them from sticking to the foil. Wrap them loosely in foil and place on BBQ grill. Watch closely as they cook fast. Cook till they start to flake, enjoy. Sorry to hear that you have GERD I hope you get better. I have stomach ulcers and I ask Doctor what to eat or what not to eat. He told me to eat whatever I wanted that if it made me sick enough that I would not eat it again. I thought he was just being smart with me but he was right.![]()
Be safe and good luck fishing![]()

I really like them broiled. Spray a cookie sheet with no stick, put the fillets skin side down, a little butter on each, lemon pepper and some onion slices(rings). Put under the broiler for about 5 minutes. Good stuff.
Since posting this, I've seen a cardiac doctor to rule out heart problems and was told I didn't have gerd, but heart problems and he scheduled me for stress test and
some kind of calcium test. I've seen 3 doctors in the past week and got 3 different diagnosis. I have since eliminated my chest pain with baking soda and water. It
does stop the pain quickly. Don't sound like a heart problem to me. On blood pressure med now and it is doing very good. Going to get the gall bladder checked out
next and let the cardiac doctor sit for the time being. Did try one nitro pill under the tongue and it did not stop the pain in the center of my chest. The baking soda
worked quickly and effectively. Been told my system makes too much acid and I think that doctor was right.
