Sounds like the same thing mine was doing. Just went and got a carb. kit, cleaned it out w/ carb. cleaner put on new gaskets and it runs like a champ. If I can do it anybody can!Anyway, thats my 2cents worth.

My motor wants to bog down when I try to put the throttle down. Sometimes it will go if I choke it when it bogs down. Does that mean the motor is getting starved for fuel? What do I do?

HSSS,
Welcome to the forum! Be sure and check to see that your water pump is working. If it isn't pumping water out of the motor, it will get hot and begin to seize. If it runs fine when the engine is first started up, look at your water pump output.
The water pump aside, it is starving for either fuel or air. Before I'd put a carb kit in, I'd change the in-line filter. If that doesn't do it, I'd run the unit w/o an air filter to see if THAT might be it. If this fails to remedy the situation, then I'd go with the carb kit and clean it up really well.
Let us know the outcome. There is a mechanic's branch of this forum that might be able to assist you in a more specific way.
Best o' luck to you,

mine was doing the same thing but i made the mistake of filling my gas tank in december and even with treatment my gas went bad i would change the gas and check plugs.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I guess I'll start with the filters and spark plugs and go from there. Thanks.

Check the rubber diaphram in you fuel pump and primer bulb for small holes! Exspecially fuel pump.![]()
Was that a bite? Forgot what they feel like!
Just took a fuel sample out from the tank and it had a bunch of black sediment in it. I guess I will replace the lines and put a fuel filer/water seperator outside of the motor. Hopefully I won't have to replace the tank.

Be sure and check to see if your carbs have a settling bowl, if so there should be a drain. Drain them and refill and repeat this about four or five times and spray with good carb cleaner. You can also remove the air adjustment and spray cleaner in that opening. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU NOTATE THE LOCATION OF THE ADJUSTMENT BEFORE REMOVING THE SCREW. This can be done by gently screwing the adjustment all the way in and counting the number of rotations as you do this. After cleaning just set your adjustment back to original point. Plugs are cheap, so change them whether you think you need to or not. Make sure they are the proper ones for your application. Good Luck....
If the good Lord is willing and the creeks dont rise I'll catch a slab today.
Wouldn't hurt to run some seafaom though it and change filter.
