Just bought the Humminbird 580 Combo this year. It was the least expensive one that had dual beam in a combo unit.

I do a lot of spider rigging, so I love being able to "mark" each area that I catch fish. I also love the chart plotting. It is black and white, but I have no problem reading it. Here is the link to it.

i just bought the humminbird 363 gps combo for $299.oo from cabellas...like joe, i like to troll fish and the combos are good for marking fish plus it gives you your trolling speed which in my oppinion is very important when trying to duplicate a particular pattern...if the speed indicator interest you as well, look carefully at the specs...alot of the units out there will say speed capable and you have to buy an extra sensor...the 363 has the speed already built in...good luck

580 has your speed as well. Gasper goul is correct, if you troll, you must have the speed.

Welcome aboard Laz51! Look forward to your observations and comments. If you're only going to fish from one boat, a combo is good. If you hunt, travel or use more than one boat, consider a marine handheld GPS. I fish from several boats (with friends, family) and it helps to have all my maps and waypoints (coords) where I can throw 'em in the tackle box to carry with me. Just a thought......
