It's up to all of us to report abuse to the proper authorities. The game and fish can't be everywhere so we have to help them (and our sport) out. If you see someone keeping more than their share, turn them in.

I agree. Keeping over limits is wrong, no matter how you slice it. I'd love to see the limits increased on Bull Shoals and on Beaver, but that's likely to happen when pigs fly....

You could even call the local authorities and they can detain them until the proper enforcement official arrives at the scene. The very reason we can enjoy hunting and fishing is because of the conservation of game and fish. They may not catch them all but they may some day cause a lower limit in the amount you can legally take...

    Default fisherman will lie

Horseshoe has a generous limit of 50 per day, but with these type of people, limits mean absolutely nothing, and that's so sad. I can't speak for other lakes, but this lake cannot endure this type of overfishing year after year. If something isn't done, the memories of slab crappie here will be just that, memories. It just makes me sick.
I have known fishermen to lie about location of fish as well as number caught, let's just hope that this is not the truth being spoken by one who claims to have caught so many fish. Sorry but until I see the fish it is just another story.

    Smile Crappie Fisherman or HOG

As mentioned, if a guy is feeding his family with the crappie, Amen to him and hope they enjoy the meal. Myself I keep the bigger Crappie and throw back the smaller ones, some 6-10 inches. I try and keep the bigger ones 15 and over. I enjoy crappie fishing and the idea of being on the water and enjoying nature.

Sometimes I would care less if I got a bite, just the peace and quite. The limit is not my goal when I go crappie fishing. Sometimes I will release crappie if I did not catch enough or just had bad luck. I keep my fish alive in a wire basket until I am done, so I can put them back if I desire.

The guys on this site are not only crappie fisherman, but it seems we all obey the laws, respect others property, care about nature and try to be good stewards.

Wonder how many hours and days he fished and didn't catch any to feed his family ,maybe he was just making up for the hours and days he didn't catch...like I'll stop at that stop sign twice next time.

I'm sure the local fisherman know this guy and if he is a bad guy always breaking the law someone around will tun him in.

sounds fishy to me. How many other folks were catching 'em fast enough to have 3 48 qt. coolers full?? If so that must be the hottest lake in the state.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

My thoughts exactly. Anyone that has fished there knows about the average size fish that is usually caught at horseshoe, thats why I said that guy must have a had a bunch of ice in his cooler.

    Smile Honey Holes

I have my own places I fish and catch crappie and I have seen quite a bit of success in a day, but never got in a situation where I could catch 3 coolers full of crappie in one day, nor would I want to.

If I ever find a honey hole like that, I will invite others over too enjoy the fishing also. Depending on the time of the day I leave the lake, I have been known to give fish away to people who are not so lucky.

Like the other day I met a gentleman and his wife, who had been at Millwood all day and did not catch a fish or even get a bite and told me he had no idea how to fish Millwood, while others were catching their limits. Folks like this I would give them my fish, usually I keep a few in the freezer for myself.

I also share my knowledge of the lake with people when they ask me, because Millwood is hard to fish unless you know it.
