Default Big Big Bream from Ouchita

    Hail all,

Well my stepdad and i caught 64 Bream today. some of them were the biggest we have ever caught. Largest being a 9 3/4 in Red ear. Wind was light and for the most part the rain was as well. T-storm finally ran us off at about 1100-1130.

WE put in at Crystal springs. Ran out toward main lake we stoped on about the 3ed big cove to the west. water 67-68 degrees. started in 20ft with no cork jsut split shot and #4 long shank hook (bent). we put corks back ono at about 8fow, and the fun really began .caught fish all the way down to 2-3 fow. biggest being in2-3 fow. best luck was at edge of buck brush. not really bedded up caught 2-4 fish and moved on. Only 2 fish had eggs.so i guess these guys were all up shallow making beds for mama.
hooked one nice slab crappie but NoGo ono the landing;(.

53 Bluegill and 11 Redear. and we still had crickets in the boxes

    Default Ouachita Bream

Nice mess of fish. Can't wait til the storms quit, and get in on some of that action.

Looks like I gotta go get me some crickets now that the crappie are coolin' off a bit.

That's some pretty fish you got there and I KNOW you had a blast. The thing I like about fishing the Crystal Chute area is the protection it provides from the wind, plus, it's just plain beautiful.
