Went to visit the in-laws this weekend. Started out Friday morning at daylight on Morgan Point. Ended up catching 2 on the edge of the deep hole in 17' of water. Jigged shallow brushpiles and the channel on down the lake without any bites...except for a load of gar in the middle of the channel 15' deep about 3/4 of the way down the lake. Packed it up at 2pm and decided to hit the Coal Pile on the way back. Ended up catching about 18 pretty good ones Friday afternoon. They were biting 6-8' deep in 8-9.5' of water. Decided to go back Saturday morning, and couldn't hardly find 'em again. Ended up catching mostly smaller fish with one good'un to end the day. They were about 8-9' deep over 9-10' of water. I searched water from 6' to 13', but couldn't find the larger fish. Ended up keepin' a dozen on the smaller side. Everyone fishing shallow in the cypress was empty handed on Saturday. The two big ones for the trip were 2-10 and 2-6. All were caught on rosie reds.
