    Default Eagle Lake

I went "crappie" fishing today. I caught 5 catfish, 2 bass, and a drum. Almost all of them on a yo yo, and a shiner was the only thing they bit. My attitude today though is "parts is parts". Except for the drum. I just finished cleaning them.

Eagle lake is a small oxbow off the Saline in Felsenthal. I went there to hide from the wind, but it was too rough nonetheless.

I think I may go there again next week and concentrate on the yoyos. They were an afterthought today, but those that didnt catch fish were either hung up or robbed.

Is Eagle Lake the one that has the camping right before you get to it? If it is, I used to camp there during the Permit Draw Muzzleloader Hunts. Beautiful refuge and lakes.

Sounds like you had a good time anyway. I used to coon hunt in felsenthal back in the early 80's before it was a refuge and it is a beautiful place to just look at. I am thinking about trying LM this afternoon if I can get home in time and the wind is not too terrible.

I think I noticed a campsite to the right just before the boat ramp. It is a pretty place. Lots of ducks, squirrel, and turkeys. Heard some wild hogs squealing.
