    rieve,
You referred to a black nosed crappie. If it had a black stripe down it's nose this could be Hybird Crappie (White & Black).
Mississippi State University was in the midst of a study on these several years ago.
Don't know the results of the study but the fact it was taking place was reported in Crappie World magazine.
1perchjerker PS we seem to catch a lot of them in the Atchafalaya Basin

Had a good day on LM today. Size ranged from 6 inches to one hoss that went 16.5 inches. Tried trolling bandits for about 20 minutes till I got tired of catching nothin' but yellow bass and then swapped them out for the jig poles. A great relaxing day to be on Monticello Lake.
    From the ARK-LA-MISS Delta....... Crappie Paradise ! ! ! !

Good job Steve, it was a nice day for Monticello. I wanted to go, but have been staying home nursing a bad cold. Maybe next weekend.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Thanks for the reports, y'all. I'm looking forward to getting back out to LM soon. There's nothing like catching crappie 50' deep. Hah, my first trip out there, I didn't even have enough line on my poles to get to the bottom...:D

went back today and came home with 32 averaging around 11 inches but one went 2lb 1oz. Everyone i talked to said they wore em out yesterday but i was happy with 32 only 8 away from limiting out between the 2 of us. Probably could have gotten the other 8 but decided to head home

was hoping for a trip to LM this weekend, but my sis just hatched out a 9lb 8 oz baby boy in Jonesboro, so looks like Uncle Matt :D is heading to Paragould this weekend instead of fishing. I think that's a good excuse of not going, huh?

That boy baby is pretty close to being a whopper. Congrads Uncle Matt!! Neices and nephews are almost as much fun as grand kids. Ruin them then send them home.
