Hey guys,
I have a question about uploading/downloading waypoints back and forth from easy gps to my garmin etrex legend.
Can I upload or download individual waypoints or do all of them have to be done each time? I have not been able to figure out a way to pick out individual ones to send back at forth. I went fishing with Jerry Blake early last spring and he sent me the waypoints for all the condos they put out with AGAF, but there are so many that I can't load all of them plus the ones I already have.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I was able to move waypoints between my Lowrance hand held and the one on my boat via SD card. I keyed the points I wanted into the handheld and saved that file to the SD card then up to the boat unit. Will work the other way too, but only as a group.
I'm guessing the Garwin would be the same.

Everyone needs to believe in something. I believe I'll go fishing!
Thanks wannabee.
I guess what I'm looking for is a way to cut and past the waypoints and save individual ones in a file without transfering every waypoint I have on the gps.
If I'm understanding it correctly now.....if my gps only holds 500 way points....when I get 500 on it the only way to save any more is delete older ones?
I can save all of them in a file on easygps, but that's only a back up in case something happens to my hand held?
When I download my waypoints from my garmin to easygps it only makes a copy and does not open up space on my garmin?
I have confussed myself even more, so anyone can make sense out of what I'm asking please give me feedback.
cheezy have you downloaded and installed Garmins trip and waypoint manager. this is what i use for my garmin etrex legend
i think my trip and waypoint manager disk came with the unit
You can make a file in EasyGPS for the waypoints you want to upload and then upload the whole file. Just open the original file and then click on each waypoint that you want to upload while holding down your "Control" key. Each one should highlight when you click on it. When you have all the ones you want highlighted "right click" on one of them and then click "copy". Open a new file and "right click" on it and paste the waypoints there. Then upload that file. In EasyGPS you can sort the waypoints by a variety of ways including longitude or latitude if you want to just upload waypoints in a certain part of the lake.
Another option is to make a duplicate of the original file and then delete the waypoints you don't want to upload before uploading the file to your GPS.
If you only want a few waypoints from a file you can "right click" on a waypoint and then click on "Send Waypoint To GPS".

Thanks Jerry.
The only program I have down loaded is the easygps link you sent me last spring.
Is deleting individual waypoints the only way to remove them from the gps? When I upload my waypoints from my gps to a file in easygps.....they will still be on my gps, right?
By the way Jerry,
My name is charles Mcwhorter. My wife treated my brother in law and myself to a trip with you for my birthday early last spring. I was working for Potlatch in Prescott, but that mill closed and they moved me out to Idaho. I'm relocating to the Potlatch mill in Warren, Arkansas early next month.
