It is shame that we are not allowed to be armed for protection, because occupants are not searched upon entry to camping sites. Camera,s would be a good idea, and I am sure a lot of sportman would contribute to the cause if asked--just increase the cost of licenses a couple of years.
We ain't posed to be armed??

The judge that released them just got reelected last week.
I use the busy ramps due to the amount of campers around the area and docks for people to fish. I guess I will have to travel by boat lanes to reach the spots, but at times the middle of the lake is very very rough. We are at the mercy of these folks--shameful---a man could lay his wallet on his hood of the truck and it would be there when he returned--thats my view.

I agree with the gentlemen about the CCW. I have mine and carry any time I go to a launch by my self. It's a shame that it has gotten to this point....

I carry a gun because a cop is just plain too heavy.
When seconds count, a cop is only minutes away.
Anyone care to guess where I stand on this issue?

My partner and I fish a private lake in a club we are in and frequently just leave our boats down there. The farmers keep the gates locked unless they are down there farming and even then lock them at night.

Some time between weekend before last and last weekend some one stole 1 of the 2 poles in my boat, my bilge pump (which is loose as I move it between 2 boats), and a small tackle box with crappie tackle. They left 2 minnow buckets, paddles, some minnow dippers, and the boat itself which is a light 14 foot jon boat that they could have easily thrown in the back of a truck.

They stole 2 of the 4 poles in my partner's boat, his crappie tackle box, and a pair of needle nose pliers. However they left his minnow buckets, battery, trolling motor and gas tank.

The same thing happened 2 or 3 years ago.

It's a mystery to us because the farmer doesn't think it was any of his employees, and we know them all and can't imagine it either. Also none of us have ever run into some one who just wandered in when the gates were open, though some one sure could have.
The other perplexing thing is that you would think a thief would get every thing, but in both cases they took some things and left others and what they left was probably more valuable than what they took.

Sounds to me like kids fishing out of your boats and decided to lift the stuff they were using that was yours out of your boats. Probabally teenagers out dirt roading w/ beers and came asross your stuff, decided to use it and keep it. I would venture to say thatfrequent checks of the pond would produce the culprits and your gear. Although the bilge pump has me stumped!

I think I know where you stand. Too bad we were not born back in the good ole days when Paw Pa took matters in his own hands and strung em up his self.

We know the feeling, they jacked 3 of our gig catfish rods out of the pontoon under the carport, in the front yard!!! $450.00 all custom built, left the crappie rods, plus we had a new deep cycle battery sitting on the front, didn't touch it....man its getting worse than ever, these lazy bums wont work, but they put out effort to steal, but I've got a 110 volt surprise waiting for these boys!!!

Tell ya one thing, if the po po catch a thief red handed, took a hatchet and whacked one of their grubby paws off, it would only take a couple of examples and that whole stealing mess would STOP!
