If you're fishing water that is connected to the Miss. river, they can be dangerous. This is the flying carp, Asian big mouth carp, imported here and now rampant in waters connected to the Miss. river. They react to outboard motor noise and jump several feet into the air and sometimes land in your boat as this one did.
