Started seeing these fish several years ago on the Mississippi. Never got hit, but have had a few close calls. I guess they multiple like rabbits. Was up at Dam no 2 earlier this year, just looking and walking my dog. These carp were stacked against concrete wall. The only fish prior to this I have seen this thick was shad.
I've heard they are good to eat. A buddy of mine uses them for cut bait. To get bait on the Mississppii ,they run their boat in circles in a backwater area. LOL:rolleyes:

I've seen bowfishing for them on a couple different tv shows.
Wonder what keeps them from coming up the Arkansas river? I figure it's just a matter of time.
Won't be long before we start seeing them in the Little Maumelle.

We may all be carp fishermen before long, because that may all we have. They're killing the fisheries in the Mississippi River lakes.
Channel 3's Mid-South Outdoors television show had a cute story about them several years ago. They weren't widespread at that time. How things have changed! One almost took my boat driver's head off several years ago. Does anyone know of any research being done on them now? I've heard there is some, but haven't been able to find the results.
