I have drilled and pulled and worked on more wells than I ever care to remember. Even to this day, he still calls me when he needs some help and I go out and drill/pull wells with him. I have been worked on deep and shallow wells, relifts, you name it I probably worked on it or have seen it. I just have never seen one pump 5000 gpm. I am not saying its not possible, I would just have to see it and measure and calculate it for myself to really believe it.

Good luck to you fellows, when at full pool again, hollar at us Yankees up North and we'll make a drive down! I read that article sounds like a VERY good deal for all the locals and visitors too! MM

:D The article said when all 10 are pumping they can pump 72 million gallons of water per day (24 hour period)...that means each pump could realistically pump about 4-5,000 gallons per minute! To equate GPM take 5,000 gallons times 60 (for the amount of minutes in an hour) you get 300,000 gallons per hour, take 300,000 time 24 (for the amount of hours in a day) you get 7,200,000 gallons per day. Then take that number and times by 10 (for the amount of pumps pumping an equal amount of water) and you get the 72 million gallons per day they speak of in the article.....that should clear it up for everyone, haha~! I talked to Mr. Bonds this morning. He said the pipes are 16 inches in diameter. Or 16 inch wells. Does that help? They were 150 feet down. How big the impellars are I have no idea. Motors are 75 hp @1800 RPM. He said they would be back to full pool by winter. The cost of running the motors were 30k per month and did not want to run short of money. So they are taking their time. I'm beginning to think like you now, that sure is alot of water.

About the crappie habitat, he said be my guest to put all you want in there. Just make sure everything is environmentally safe.

Pox just an fyi that CEB has finaly burried his head in the books in preperation for his Med exams or I'm sure he would have responded to this thread with glee.

By the way who is paying the 30k per month for this venture, and do you know if the water is comming from the Mississippi river or an aquifer?

ceb. The Man's name is Pat Bonds he is the driving force behind getting the money so the wells could be drilled. His number is 870-339-3127. It is my understanding they are gowing to have ten well pumping by mid summer.
