I have been there a time or two. Remindes me of a story, me and a buddy were catfishing on Horseshoe one night and the fish weren't biting. We could see the lights of the casino's going back and forth. Well, we decided screw it and loaded the boat up and headed to the Casino's. Well, we thought we had only been there 3-4 hours, and we strolled out of the casinos and the sun was up. It was a long ride home.Quote:

:D The article said when all 10 are pumping they can pump 72 million gallons of water per day (24 hour period)...that means each pump could realistically pump about 4-5,000 gallons per minute! To equate GPM take 5,000 gallons times 60 (for the amount of minutes in an hour) you get 300,000 gallons per hour, take 300,000 time 24 (for the amount of hours in a day) you get 7,200,000 gallons per day. Then take that number and times by 10 (for the amount of pumps pumping an equal amount of water) and you get the 72 million gallons per day they speak of in the article.....that should clear it up for everyone, haha~! I talked to Mr. Bonds this morning. He said the pipes are 16 inches in diameter. Or 16 inch wells. Does that help? They were 150 feet down. How big the impellars are I have no idea. Motors are 75 hp @1800 RPM. He said they would be back to full pool by winter. The cost of running the motors were 30k per month and did not want to run short of money. So they are taking their time. I'm beginning to think like you now, that sure is alot of water.
About the crappie habitat, he said be my guest to put all you want in there. Just make sure everything is environmentally safe.

ceb. The Man's name is Pat Bonds he is the driving force behind getting the money so the wells could be drilled. His number is 870-339-3127. It is my understanding they are gowing to have ten well pumping by mid summer.
From what I understand is that they passed some sort of a tax for the landowners on Horseshoe and thats whats footing the bill. The water is coming from the Alluvial Aquifer, because those are shallow wells, which is replenished over time by the river.Quote:
