The 17 pitch was what was on it when I got it, and the book for evilrude indicates this is the recommended prop. But, if that does not work, I'll try a smaller pitch prop and keep this one for a spare. Thanks for the info guys. I did look at CMC aftermarket tilt and trim, but the one in Cabella's and in Bass Pro catalogs one says it is only good up to 35 hp. Above that they recommend a biger tilt and trim unit. I think financially, maybe the lesser pitch prop is the way to go. Also the rpm indicator on the dash is nonfunctional, I think maybe this is motor was a replacement for whatever came on the boat and the tac and other gauges were never hooked up.
