Default Post Spawn Crappies on Nimrod

They finally started biting today. I caught a good limit with a couple just over 15''. The fish are deep and still have to search for them. Tried to post a picture but something ain't right. Maybe get it done later. Several had worn tails and the females had empty egg sacks. Who still says they did'nt spawn ?

Nimrod thats a good haul but like the paper said the concensus says they havent spawned. You must have just been catching barren females and adolecent males.

By the way who is local angler Billy Blankenship anyway?

The other Crappie guide here on the lake. Billy is the B , in B and D guides.:D He lives at Carter Cove and submits a fishing report to AGFC. Usually one or both of us are on the water everyday except deer season. He also fishes Bass alot while the regular Tuesday night tournaments are going on. Week days in the afternoon and weekends is when he fishes. I fish mostly any morning as I don't have regular employment.:D I usually fish Crappie and Catfish ,but have been known to chase Green Carp {Bass} too.

Oh yea Gooch, I gave my fish to an older couple today to keep from dressing them. They had such trouble getting it done I had to help. They went on and on how good a mess of fish it was. They could not believe I would give them away.:D But everyone I talked to today said nothing but a few dinks were biting.

Yeah, it's good to see the females with no eggs left when the water get this warm. I do believe ya may be right about the spawn and a good one too. LOL.

Crappie are fair ,but right on the bottom in 9 to 12' water. I took a local out and we got 20 nice keepers this morning. Went back alone for a couple of hours this evening and got 5 nice keepers. The little ones were'nt biting as much as normal. Most of the fish caught were nice keepers. I hope it keeps getting better. Lots of folks not catching many Crappie yet.

I checked the map this morning, and it appears thet Nimrod is not much farther than Conway from my home. However, US 7 is not a nice road, so if I make it to the fish n eat I may have to spend the night in a motel rather than try that road at 12 am. Looking forward to the outing hope someone has room for me in a boat.

Flyflinger, great that you will try to attend. The guys traveling the longest distance will have the first choice to fish with me and sure that Slabbandit will feel this way too. We both have boats and should have room for a board member.

Flyfinger your welcome to stay at my place if you can tolerate a 8 year old boy and a mean woman. Would be proud to put you up if you would like.
