We did most of our catching today pitching jigs over shallow bamboo beds, brushpiles and lay-downs. Most bites were only 2 or 3-feet deep.

Some of the males are really dark already and we're finding more and more females shallow. They'll be spawing real soon if we don't get a major cool-down. Ended up with 27 Crappie and a couple Bream. The Redear was 11-inches long but I neglected to weigh it - about a pound even I would guess.

We also had a Blacknose Crappie with 6-dorsal spines and fuzzy blotches like a few we catch that I believer are Hybrids. It didn't have the vertical bar pattern of a White Crappie and it had the body build of a Black. I'm sure it was a hybrid cross between a Blacknose Crappie and a White Crappie.

Got a good report on Hamilton so we are going to fish there tomorrow.
