I went fishing in Wilamena Cove. The usual 30 or so boats were in there. I was the second one off of the launch; so I got my usual spot. I didn't have to move my boat but once and came home with 10 nice ones after about 7 hrs. Can't say that I patterned them. I caught them on both colors of minnows and about 4 different colors of jigs. I was tight lining and casting a slip cork rig.
I saw a couple of guys tight lining bringing up some 2.5 pounders. The biggest ones I saw was a genuine 3 pounder weighed in at the launch. The same fellow had a 2.5 pounder. He was spider rigging just like CEB.
They slowed down about 9:30 and had quit by 2PM. But, I don't think they even knew they were supposed to be messed up with the fluctuations in water levels. I caught mostly males. So, it is not time to start searching the flats yet.
