    try sinking one thru your thumb and a fish on the other treble flopping around!!!! good thing i had my wire cutters handy. still ended up having to go to the doctor and get it out, but at least the fish wasn't flopping!!!

    Be careful is right. I don't know how many times I've seen guys trying to get the treble hooks out of a fish while the pole is almost bent double with tension on the lure. One slip or flop of the fish and that sucker can come out with a vengeance and set the hook in your hand, fingers, face, or head. Or maybe both hands at the same time. Who knows.

    This may sound lame but I fish mostly by myself and I'm afraid of something like that happening. I started using one of those catfish grippers when fishing by myself. Makes it a lot easier to control them.

    tell be bout it cray, i have done it twice with a crankbait fishing by myself. you ain't had fun til you load your boat by yourself, drive all the way home, unloaded the boat and head to minor emergency. i now want get close to a fish with a treble in it's mouth...
