    Default Be Careful

Now that it is crankbait season be careful with those treble hook. I was trolling this morning and had a boat come straight to me on plane then shut down. I'm thinking why is this guy coming straight toward me. He get about 50' from me and hollers to me I need some help. He says he has a hook in his hand so I tell him to stop and I will reel up my rods and come back to him. When I get to his boat he has a treble hook buried in his middle finger on his left hand and one buried in his index finger on his right hand. He was driving his boat like he had handcuffs on. I was able to get the hooks cut from the crankbait then pull the hooks out. He was a tough guy because after I got them out and cleaned up the wounds he we back fishing. He said the reason he came to me was because he saw my truck when we were launching and saw that I was s guide. Little did he know I had only did that once and it was on myself.

Always a bad feeling when you see a hook sink into you.

Yanking them out with the string and jerk method looks like it really will hurt ya, but it's really almost painless. I've had two snatched out of my fingers and kept on trolling. I ain't tough either. When it comes to blood and stuff I'm as big a wuss as they come Be Careful

The one that was in his left hand did bleed quite a bit.
