Well I had a good feeling the other night, so I decided to head down to Cane Creek before the front moved through. I fished yesterday and today. Yesterday was tough to say the least. I spent all day to get 13 with a couple of throwbacks. Most were caught shallow side of the treeline, but this sure enough slab came from the one of the older spots that hadn't been producing here lately. Here's the story...I got there at around 7:30 Monday morning and started setting out my poles. Before I could get my thrid pole out, he nailed it. He sat in the livewell all day Monday and Monday night. I finally found some scales and weighed him at 7:00 this morning, so he had pretty much been in the livewell for 24hrs. He weighed 2-14 to 2-15 on a seed scale. Maybe he would have been 3+ if I would have been able to weigh him sooner? Oh well, I was talked into getting him mounted for a Christmas present, so I went ahead and did it. Good thing is that I still have time to upgrade if I find another one.

I finished out Monday with 13. Got 15 today, with one at least 2lb (again, no scales).

Big fish from yesterday and today.

Another. Had to switch hands because he was so heavy. :D

    chris,
If that fish was 3lbs, you could take some scales off of him, send it to the game & fish, and get that master angler pin. I do think they want the fish released though. Real nice.

Ceb, Congrats on your catch, the numbers may not have been there for you, but it looks like the quality was. That's an awesome fish. Don't blame you for hanging it on the wall.

Great catch CEB. That's the crappie of a lifetime. We're supposed to be off all next week (though clients don't always see it that way) so maybe I'll see you out on the LM some.

    Have a great Christmas.

Awesome slabs. I've got that 2-12 black crappie in the freezer from this last January and when I get back to work after the first of the year I'm going to be working for a white that will go with the black in a double mount.
