Good points kayakman. I don't think I ever saw where cmj said it was Conway though. Maybe it was an assumption made. There are good points made here. I have never seen enforcement on the lake myself. Would be neat to have an enforcement day like the cleanup and go gather all he unmarked and illegal devices. It would solve the problem for a little bit.

Look guys, I am no thief, or hater of set lines. As I stated in my original post, I grew up running them, and still have lots of them. I dont want to see them outlawed, but now see that it may be for the best. Robbie, I have caught my share of giant Flatties, so I know the feeling you are talking about. As I told you before, I have no problem with legally placed lines, I just hate to see how much trouble they cause when they are not used according to the law.

Midcarolina, man I see that you are passionate about the subject, as am I, but I think we both know that I am not the yoyo pirate that you are trying to make me out to be. Just because a line is marked doesnt mean it wasnt abandoned. The yoyo was 7ft above the water level, which means that the yoyo was tied before the lake dropped 4ft....three months ago!!! The catfish head in the first pic was shriveled and the bones were exposed and picked clean. As I said before, I am not trying to get into a debate, just stating my observations.

How many deer got shot this yr in the state of arkansas , with blood drawn everywhere and the hunter not find them? How many ducks are out there that got slammed with steel shot not to wad up and fall dead but flew off to their inevitable death bed? Only never to be found There is wildlife strung from one end of this state to the other out there wasting that never got honored with human consumption. Now was this the intentions of the hunter, to be out there killing and wasting ? Id like to thank not atleast for 99.9% of the ones it happened to this year, but none the less its casualties of the sport. With that being said do i believe someone goes through the trouble of buying yoyos/limblines ,bait and time putting them out just to kill a fish and not do anything with it ... Haha no thats not how the story goes , but there are two sides to this book. Who's to say the owner of that marked yoyo didnt have a family emergency fall upon them that needed direct and immediate attention the night they last baited. Dont get me wrong laziness does play into it but not every case and who are we to decided otherwise? In my eyes this doesnt justify destruction or theft of property that should be left up to mr green jeans.
Ive seen on here where people wanted to get together and go out and gun down all kinds commarants but you let one die on a limb line and by god we got problems. Just like the swans in the pool last yr, i heard person after person crying/complaining oh theyre eating all kinds of our crappie somebody needs to do something about it and on and on and on but yet again let one get on a limb line and here we go again.
Maybe if we made a little noise somewhere where it matters about the neglect of checking game regulations on conway or the under staff of wardens we might make a little progress. But to be calling for all yoyos/limb lines to be banished that aint right just bc it aint your way of fishing i cant help that. I dont understand why someone needs 6 , 8 , 10 rods hung off their boat spiderrigging. It seems like an awful easy way for a fish to swallow a hook bc soneone got distracted whether it be tying on a hook or taking a fish off whatever and with the new length limit what are you gunna do with an 8 inch crappie that you had to rip the gills out to get ur hook back? Its gunna get throwed back into the water die and go to waste. So should we pushing for this to be done away with?
Dont get me wrong chris when i first started limblining this past spring it made me sick at all the lines i found left out there for hooks to rot off. But my way of fixing it was to pull them out of the water and bury that hook into a limb so nobody/nothing got hurt and nobody could get me for destruction/theft of property . Dude i understand the passion and love inside you for that lake and for crappie fishing and i promise you i carry it to man but if youve ever reached down grabbed a limbline that had a 40 50 plus pound flathead on it going bat sheet crazy you would understand the passion inside of me for limblining
If u didn't know if a fish swallows a hook u can cut ur line and release it and it will be fine. If it hangs out of the water all day on a yo yo I think ur gonna have a hard time reviving it.

I personally enjoy yoyoing. I dont do it very often. I try to do it as legally as i can when I do. I perfer pole fishing and pole fish most of the time. I really have came to love the thump. Sometimes with work and weather its either yoyo a few hours at dark or stay at the house.

No I am not passionate about set lines.......... I have never in my life ran set hooks, trot lines, bush hooks or yo-yo's. What I am passionate about is an individual that endows themself with the authority to decide what others should and should not do.......... don't matter if it's yo-yo's or a vegetarian telling me we must stop eating meat! or a person decides to buy a tiny electric car then wants the Gov. to ban big vehicles.......... It's all the same kind of mind set.
