    Default WARNING New Tracker Boats

Tracker makes super boats, I have a 17.5 and love it. The new models have a great new powder coat finish. This year that finish is applied to the bottom of the boat as well as the sides. It is a real slick finish. So slick, some boats are sliding off the trailer while being backed down the ramp. Beware and be aware, don't unhook from the winch until you are in the water. I have heard this from a local marina as well as from a tracker salesman.

Well, I don't normally tell on myself, but this one is the fault of my fishing buddy, not me.

You know those "trailer slick" bars that you can put on your trailer? Well, if you have those installed, and IF you go to palarm creek on the river, and IF you unhook before you back down, you MIGHT lose your boat on the ramp before the water is ever engaged.

I don't KNOW this, but I've heard it MIGHT happen.

    Be forewarned.

Same thing for the Lowe Stinger 195's! Will slide right off your trailer! I have loaded and unloaded boats thousands of times, have always unhooked and never had a problem. Got my new boat, very first dang trip to the lake and it slid right off! My heart jumped in my throat!!! I would have never told a soul but since its brought up I will share to prevent someone else from making same mistake.

The same thing happened to me with my Tacker on the ramp at Carden Point. The trailer just broke over the top of the ramp going down when the boat slid back on the trailer, the fin on bottom of motor hit the ramp ground the fin along the concrete.
It could have been worse. Now the strap stays hooked up till I get down to the water.

as big and heavy as that motor must be, I'm not surprised on that one.
