Chris try the Pro Tubes by Southern Pro in solid Chartruse with an unpainted 1/4 oz leadhead inside. Never felt the need for added nibbles , fish today inhaled this big bait.
Jack I think that 1/4 oz has about a #1 hook.

Same thing on Conway today. Couldnt hardly buy a bite with the usual 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs. The few that did bite were lip hooked and ended up pulling off at the boat. I tried downsizing without much luck, so I tied on a 1/4 oz pink Arky head with a pink/chart Joker and tipped it with a gold nibble and BAM, game on!! Never lost another fish.

I caught some on Beaver over the last few days with some large Arkie tubes. White with Chartreuse skirts.

Nimrod are you using the long skinny heads that are made to go inside the tube jigs.

awsome
In humble reverance to the GREAT I AM! THAT I AM!
No sir those large pro tubes will allow a round head jig inside with no problem. I smooth off the rough spots on lead , spit or apply some type of oil (fish attractant) for lube on it and insert. Pop the eye through and your ready to tie on your line. Since I seldom use fish attractant , the spit might be working .Always heard as a kid spit on your bait.
