I'm trying BagBalm right now. It is a lanolin based product and so far seems to be doing good. Not as messy as lanolin, and a little goes a long way. Sheds water good too. The jury is still out, but I'll know by Wednesday how good this stuff is.http://www.bagbalm.com/

Brings back memories of growing up in Iowa 50 yrs ago. I and my siblings had 2 dairy cows each to hand milk twice a day and bag balm was a must have in the cold winter time. It did keep your hands feeling good as I recall. Surprised it is still made and hasn't been outlawed by PETA or DC for some nebulus reason.

When mine crack and they do often during duck season no matter what lotion I use. I use Nuskin the liquid bandage and it works . It seals and numbs the crack as well.

The BagBalm is doing pretty good. No new cracks or splits since I started with it on Monday. I've applied it twice a day so far. I do have to wash the excess off my palms and fingers when applied, but on the back of my hands where I have applied it, the water is shedding off real good. All the cracks and splits are healing good. I'd have to say this stuff works .. We'll see about the longevity of it.............

bagbalm or even better cotton pickers friend. that is if you can find it. wish I had some bottles with good labels on them.
