It makes me feel a little better that the crappie fishing is less than desirable right now. I had an exam this a.m. They told us last week that we had the day off this past friday for studying. Well, I actually heard fishing day instead of study day. Well, I went not thinking about the dam bass tourney. I started off the day catching several, but they shut down about 8:30. About 8:00, I heard all kinds of racket down the river. Well, about a couple of dozen boats came flying out of the lock, and half of em' headed up the little maumelle. They came screaming by me at about 70mph (close enough that I could have hit em' in the head with a 14' pole). The wake was so bad that it ripped the minners off of every one of my poles. It sure is nice seeing a professional fisherman, even if it is for only a split second. I ended up with 7 keepers, two of which were nice sized and the rest were barely keepers. I got out of there about 10:45 to rest up for the study-weekend.

I didn't get a shot of em heading towards me, but I got their arse-end.

The two bigger ones, pardon the purtty hair-do. I'm trying a new low maintenace style.

A couple of sunrise pics from my last trip that turned out pretty good.

Boy if you break one of my 14 foot poles on Jimmy Houstons head we are going to have to talk.

Read that Shaw Grigsby did just about all of his fishing up by you. You should have shown him where all those new crappie condos someone put out are. If he couldnt win, I bet he would have loved some crappie filets to take home with him

Darryl your going to be really depressed if you come fishing on my rig with the intention of taking notes on how to rig a boat. Now if your coming for some fun, food and fishing (In that order) I am your man.

I am thinking about doing a stalk Sunday on Ouachita if the temps stay bearable at night. I wish I could do it Friday night before all the boaters hit the lake for the weekend but the wife has me booked. Let me know if you would like to join us Sunday, I would love to have you. You would actualy provide some entertainment as one of my crew is an old Army head. Bet I can get some fireworks started when I throw a Marine like you in the mix.
