It makes me feel a little better that the crappie fishing is less than desirable right now. I had an exam this a.m. They told us last week that we had the day off this past friday for studying. Well, I actually heard fishing day instead of study day. Well, I went not thinking about the dam bass tourney. I started off the day catching several, but they shut down about 8:30. About 8:00, I heard all kinds of racket down the river. Well, about a couple of dozen boats came flying out of the lock, and half of em' headed up the little maumelle. They came screaming by me at about 70mph (close enough that I could have hit em' in the head with a 14' pole). The wake was so bad that it ripped the minners off of every one of my poles. It sure is nice seeing a professional fisherman, even if it is for only a split second. I ended up with 7 keepers, two of which were nice sized and the rest were barely keepers. I got out of there about 10:45 to rest up for the study-weekend.

I didn't get a shot of em heading towards me, but I got their arse-end.

The two bigger ones, pardon the purtty hair-do. I'm trying a new low maintenace style.

A couple of sunrise pics from my last trip that turned out pretty good.
