There are times and places for both. A well rehearsed fisherman knows when to put the single poles up and when to break out the spider rigs and vice versa. But to each is their own, when you master both, your catch rate will drastically increase. I don't judge a man by his fishing methods, I judge him more by his knowledge of when to deploy each tactic. I can tell you I was born and raised with a skulling paddle in one hand and a jig pole in the other, but spider rigging I picked up several years ago and it has paid off very well. I have seen this debate several times on the board over the 9 years i've been on the board and it never ends well. Whatever your choice of methods, just thank God and the military you have the freedom to do so! I have personally seen some of the best one poler's in the state make the transition and now they are very good at trolling as well.
Tight lines!!!
