I wanted to make them 16" square, but i let him talk me into the 12". We should have tested one out first.

I wanted to make sure it was big enough that if a gar or catfish got it they would have a hard time taking it under and tangling it up.

I'd like to redo them. I don't know if we can get them apart since they were glued. Knowing how quick they sink at 12", i would make them at least 18" next time.

You might get them apart but probably just break them lol. They may still work ok with foam wrapped around them though.

    Default Yo-Yo's

Well since I read the post about them I decided to get some of them and rushed out this morning to Wal Mart going to get about 12 of them.Well they don't have any of them in stock in the store here.
WHERE CAN I ORDER SOME OF THEM????? I have my trot lines all made and ready and decided I could use some of them also but no place locally to get any tackle other than Wally World.Bass Pro is 90 miles North of me in Winchester,Tenn.I suppose I need at least 12 of the Whites Brand??

I ordered some off of amazon the other day. I cant really say much as to the brand though because i am just trying to get into yo-yo fishing. I ordered the mechanical fishers because they have stainless steel springs. The whites and mechanical fishers were both 31.xx per dozen

I googled them and there are several places you can order them from .. looked like they would be going for $29.99/dz. Have you tried walmart.com and see if you can order some and have them sent to store for free?

    Looks like you can... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mechanical...-Pack/21063117

The few I made were 16" and worked fine. Got a buddy thats a Plumber and dug through his junk pile, made some out of 3/4 that were ok but the best were 1". Only thing that I will due diffrent next time is not glue my joints. They take up way to much space when not in use and I dont yoyo as much anymore. But I may be wrong by not glueing them because the joints might leak and take on water. Just have to see what happens.

That would work fine as long as you filled them with spray foam
