Been out fishing today and all this goin' on!!! I think ABH has brought up a very valid point. That is, I predict that you are going to see posts of limits, how, where and what they were caught on completely, or almost completely dry up. And to me, that's a very sad thing! I have been a member for about three years now, and I can't tell you how much I have learned from the very experienced and accomplished crappie fishermen, and women, on this site who are willing to share information. I can say unequivocally that I catch more fish today than I did 3 years ago, simply because of the willingness of those who share on this site. I would hate to see that change. But if it does, I understand why. And let me tell you, it's not because of there being a clique, or insider group on here. Everybody I have ever met in person, and some by pm's on here, are all stand-up people, people you really like to know and count as friends. If you don't believe that, I invite any of you to come to a Crappie Camp and see for yourselves. Or get out on the water and meet some Crappie.commers in person. I haven't met one yet that I wouldn't invite home for supper! I don't post a lot myself, but there is a very good reason for that..... I don't have a lot to post, unless I go with some of the good crappie fishermen on here. I would be more than happy to share how to's and where's with other Crappie.commers if I had that information to share. All I can say is, get on here, get involved, post when you can, and get to know folks on here. You're not an outsider unless you choose to be, and that's a shame. Also, your skill level doesn't determine how welcome you are on the board, only your willingness to become involved. Spring camp is at Dardanelle in April and there's over 100 folks already signed up, some for the very first time, and they don't know a soul! Come on and join in and be a part of this great sport called crappie fishing, and this really great site that allows us to get to know one another, learn and enjoy. You will not be disappointed!

I know alot of fisherman that could care less about a computer and that call each other to stay where the bite is on.Set around in coffee shops telling each other where and some on th
is board thinks if they post where they are the ones that knows where....lol.
Most post on here telling where is mostly on the larger lakes and it stands to reason why more boats at times are on those lakes.Just like alot of the smaller lakes and oxbows some days you have them by yourseft but the next day parking room only and it wasn't posted on crappie.com as the bite is on.Even the people in the coffee shop that does not fish at all can tell you where they heard they are biting.
90% of your lurkers are people learning a different way or how to and the other10% are members stealing your honey hole.
Its nice to see a good cooler full of big slads and makes most our mouths water just wishing we could catch something like that. But you know what a good teacher can help any old hog find a acorn but it takes someone special to teach the hog what to look for in finding the best and biggest acorn.
But I guess the next thing they will want to do is block the local coffee shops from telling where..
Well said CP. I tend to come from the same school of thought on this subject. I grew up fishing old town lake and that thing gets plum packed with boats and people fishing especially during spring. That doesn't stop me from fishing. I might not get them all but I can usually manage enough to stink up the grease No matter the level of fishing pressure. My poppa taught me to fish and he taught me that fisherman and outdoorsman and women were more times than not the best of the best people and that we should help each other out. And that's what I try to do and will always do.
Remember "pig latin"? Think we should develop "slab speak". Special language that only members w/ posts over say 2,220 know...ABH you start.![]()

Agree w/this, just my opinion.he is willing to give up any and all details. And that is how it should be.

Gotta salute this. There are not many on here that can do it day after day and if they post they attract lots of attention. This type of thing is making Slab money. I think that he gets paid by amount of hits not just members.
I've never fish Pro's water except on Washington, but he and ski trip got theirs down there too when others weren't doing so hot.

I'm with CP, I have met a lot of lurkers on the water and they are always friendly and appreciative of any advice that I can give. Most of them are led to this site by Google, wanting to learn how to fish. They dont post because they think they dont have anything to contribute and are intimidated by you pros. Most of those lurkers that are on your spot after you post about it are not catching fish anyway. Im sure CP has witnessed this, they are most likely there because they dont know where else to go. THEY ARE LEARNING!!! Isn't that what this site is about?
