Thread: Lurkers Beware

I was a lurker till yesterday. Ill probably still read a whole lot more than I post because most of you know way more about crappie fishin' than I do but I decided to go ahead and register and participate from time to time when I had something to say.

I enjoy seeing the pictures of fish and hearing about other people's success but Im way more concerned with how you caught em than where.

I do most of my fishing in an irrigation reservoir or oxbows and one or two game and fish lakes so chances are that I wont show up at your spot even if you gave me gps coordinates.

I will say this I have tried to help anyone that has pm me but I don't recollect yours buck rub. I enjoy the Comrade of the site a lot. Just a wake up call to a lot of watchers. A lot of the regulars contributors are gonna post less fishing reports for ya. Some may agree or disagree on this but it happened last year to me a lot and this year to others. To each his own opinion. Jump in the fire and post on your trips. I am sure y'all get tired of seeing the regular ugly faces. Only you can make a difference. You make the decision. Many of folks on here are glad to get a call and chat about fishing. With gas expensive and time valuable, I can see why lurked look. They want to make the best of there trip and go where the fish are biting. Is there a solution, I don't know but it has a me concerned enough to start a thread on it to make everyone aware of the issue. I welcome new people as I was once one myself. Whether you like to fish with one pole, two poles, 8 poles or cork and minner put your results up and share with everyone. If you get terse words then so be it but most of the time folks are just joking.

I ain't afraid of no reports. Dude that killed me, came on here blasting everyone about no reports and that he always posted his reports. When I checked the exif data on his pics, all of his fish were coming from behind locked gates. If I ever catch a fish behind a locked gate, I'll post it up and give all the details.

Doesn't bother me for someone to lurk. If they are lurking, they ain't fishing. If your fishing hole is good enough to worry about lurkers you need to share anyway

All that I have made feel guilty please pm coordinates. Do not post them openly on the board due to lurkers.

I'm not secretive at all. I put my condos out in the dark cause this is when I have time to do it. I work an 8 till 5 job with on call 26 weeks a year and as a rule, don't fish on Sunday. This leaves me 26 saturdays of which several are taken up by the need to do other things. When I get a chance to go fishing, I don't want to be trying to load up brush and get it to the lake with all my gear during prime fishing time. I will joke about putting it out in the dark, but this is when I have time to go.


I internet scout all the time, even though you will never see me on your water, I enjoy reading your fish stories and seeing your fish pics. All you fish catchers can lie about where and how you caught, but this will not affect me in the least and I still get to enjoy the pics and stories.

I am an internet scouting pro and intend to do a paid seminar sometime this year. Please pm if you are interested in this. I am thinking of a small fee for the seminar, but with enough interest will charge a large fee.

Found this site about a month ago, I am amazed there is so many unselfish people on here willing to help others like myself who coudnt catch a crappie in a wash tub. Never thought about lurking, just trying to learn how to catch a mess of fish. I went saturday and sunday on Norfork Lake like usuall skunked again. I am learning alot from searching the arcives and reading posts. I will try and post more kind of wierd typing for 10 minutes what i could say in 3 seconds.

Nimrod he set us up that way as a test and from my view it has drawn a bunch of new folks to sign in and start participating on the board some of them are probably good folks that think they don't have anything thing to contribute then you got that percentage that just want reports. My opinion it works.
