Blue Mtn lake is about 20 miles west of Danville, AR on Hwy 10. It has been drawn down to the river channel. My buds and I went back today.....wind was coming straight down the channel from the East....going with the wind was about 6 mph and against it was all the 28 lb thrust circa 1987 minn Kota could take....my boat managed 31......average more like 11 inch fish....other boat 12 or so 10 inch fish and two nice channel cats.......btw gar bite was awesome they like those 1/16th oz roadrunners and jigs....I'll had some picks by tomorrow....still 3 to 4 ft on the breadline for bigger fish.
If you don't mind me asking, what ramps are open up there with the draw down? Thanks
mcgoods,
to my knowledge the only ramp on the lake itself is the Ashley Creek temporary ramp...dirt/gravel road across the lake bed for about 1/2 mile....steep ramp with rocks on boards with some chain link fence mixed in. It appears to be at the junction of the Petite Jean River and Ashley Creek. The other ramp is a new one built at Hise Hill on the Petite Jean River itself....on the western end of the lake. It is a concrete ramp that will be something when the water comes back up.
Thanks Bascat1. We have been using the new ramp at Hise for a few weeks, but have thought about trying to fish out in the lake.
