Myself and 3 buddies are going to head west Friday morning and fish on the way to my farm at Booneville to spend the nite Friday. We have discussed Nimrod, Overcup and Atkins......
We are going to fish what is left of Blue Mtn Saturday and then fish somewhere coming home Sunday .....maybe Dardanelle.....any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Can't offer much help but Nimrod should be good. I just been Deer hunting and busy. Don't over look Harris Brake it has some good ones. Keep us posted as your trip progresses.

I haven't been on Overcup in the last week, but had fished it pretty hard (couple of times per week) up until last week. The bite is fine, and you'll catch a ton of fish up in the cove right out in front of the pier. But, good luck putting together a sack to carry home with you. Maybe the big fish are moving up now, but I was hard pressed to catch a decent stringer the last 3 or so trips I made over there. My recommendation would be, if you fish up in the cove and it's still chocked full of small fish only, move out to the stumps and SLOW DOWN... That's been my recipe for finding larger fish, but like I said, it's been a tough go to put numbers together. Good luck if that's where you end up, I'm not trying to discourage you, just telling ya my most recent experience there.
you can catch a bunch of small ones at atkins. dardanelle will be cent
*decent
Come up to Clarksville. Spadra marina area. All the back waters are producing right now. Jig fishing is excellent. Oh forgot to mention Big Piney. There catching some decent ones down there as well.
Second thought on Nimrod, don't waste your time right now. I fished awhile today and caught about a 9'' Crappie and a Catfish little over 3 lbs.

What Nimrod? You couldnt find fish on Nimrod? OMG launch maverick on alert five nimrods had a die off. Seriously, when Nimrod struggles the fitchin is slow as a three legged turtle walkin thru a molasses puddle in january.
Guys,
Thanks for the information you have provided. I know that none of you have ever experienced this...but one of my buds is being very hard headed.....he just knows he can catch slabs at Overcup....so we are going to stop there first.....then onward to Dardanelle when that works out to be a dink fest......I had not considered the Spadra area but plan on making that stop this weekend. Again...thanks for the help.
