dr pepper, how long have you been camping at shiloh camp ground? and does anyone remember who ran/owned/leased the shiloh marina "back in the day?" like when the lake was new? i was lucky enough to fish greers when it was new and it was hot. we camped most of the time at shiloh. that was when don ray owned the narrows boat dock and larry nixon and his dad guided out of the narrows. larry was guiding night fishing when he was 14 years old. at one time there were over 40 guides out of the narrows and one of the best was glen cossey. most of them fished out of kenzie craft boats that were made at flippin, ark before forest wood started making his ranger bass boats. the lake was so hot guides from the northern states came down and guided on the lake. when the bass fishing on the lake "cooled down" some of the guides moved down to toledo bend and sam rayburn lakes to guide. i got aquainted with several of the guides and ran into one one a trip to sam rayburn and he took me fishing there. by the way, glenn buercklin ran the shiloh marina back then. i have a pamplet from the shiloh marina with an aerial photo of part of the lower part of the lake and a conture map on the other side of that part of the lake from 1963.
