Thanks LUVPT yes.092 inches, a little thinner than .010

CS im going to test every 8 lb mono/FC (will call this the control test line) i can get new off the spool, Of course this will vary if you go up in line weight or down but the results should be about the same on a greater or lesser scale for each brand of line. Ill let you know what poundage they break at in the 8lb class only... but one can expect that results should be similar up and down the line weight classes, It will be fun to see what is the strongest 8lb test on the market. Keep in mind this test is a strength test only, and will not accurately show how well a line frays or not fray... but im willing to bet the stronger lines will not fray as easily as the weaker ones as a whole.

Your test results are intriguing but don't you think it would be better to test it with a knot? The knot is where all the stress is exerted. I just wonder if a line having a stronger linear strength translates into stronger knot strength. I used Mr. Crappie line for years and was impressed by it's strength. So impressed I decided to the put the 10lb on a couple of my bass rods. It did not perform near as well in that task, way too much stretch and very limited abrasion resistance. Here lately I have tried the Suffix Elite and the P-Line CXX Hi-Vis. I think I like the P-Line the best out of those two. If you can get a hold of some Yo-Zuri Hybrid I would really like to see it's results. That is my favorite line and it always seemed to be super strong, limp, and had very good abrasion resistance. It is really hard to find these days though and they don't make it in Hi-Viz. Just out of curiosity I might try some tests myself.

I spooled up some 6 lb. Cajun Red the other day and was amazed at how hard it was to grab and break off a hang-up. I don't know how well it would do in the test but I would like to see the results.

SJ my Goal is to show you a lines breaking point and what lines have the best breaking point in a 8lb line class to keep things simple. I really dont have the knowhow to figure in knots and how well a knot works, stretch, and abrasion resistance. I do believe tho I can show you how strong a line is with this simple test.

Russ, I use Silver Thread AN-40 because of its smaller diameter. I use it for tying my double drop spider rigs and for a leader on my braid. I would like to see its results when you get time. I might need to change. I have had excellent results in both overall strength and knot strength, but I could be missing something better.

Good test and I use 4 Ib. Mr. Crappie Hi vis and I love it. I think the line is tougher than strean or trilene. I really helps being Hi vis when jigging and watchin the line. Good luck to everyone.
