Spider rigs are common at Nimrod and have been used ever since I fished here (pre 1972 ). I have 6 (16' black widow poles ) that I made a holder for to run out the front of my boat. Also have 6 holders for smaller poles out the sides. This contraption has 2 seats and a umbrella holder inbetween the seats. We make rod holders and mount them on a board to put in the boat. Buy a piece of heavy 4'' pvc pipe. Unless you know a plumber and can get scrap. Cut off peices approx 4'' and bore a hole straight through (both sides to hold pole.I use a hole saw used for door locks and the plugs out on the holes make great washers under adjusting bolts. We then cut a 1/4'' slot on one sde to accomadate bolts to hold on board. Dont cut into the holes , just long enough for adjustment of height. Use wing nuts to be able to adjust angle or height of each pole. Run bolt through the board , set on holder , then pvc washer , steel washer , wing nut . This will be fully adjustable side to side and up and down .
