    Default Found some today

Well went to the refuge and met up with blue thunder, LuvPt and arkansasdrakehunter and another master from the crappie forum here. I think every fisherman in south and central arkansas was there this morning though. On the lake we started out fishing we counted 80 boats. man the parking lot was busier than walmart on a day after thanksgiving sale. We went back to where we were catching some fish and the boat traffic was terrible as it shut the fish down. We all decided to try another lake and left out from the first lake. I had told a few folks about this lake on the forum and we got there around noon. With only three boats on the water and no one crappie fishing we decided to lower the poles. We all took different directions to try and locate some fish. I managed to catch about a 30lb catfish but he was too big for the net so I quick released him after a 20 minute battle in the open water. Man I thought i hooked a submarine for a little while. It was a fun but tiring fight.

while fishing I heard a big commotion and looked over and saw LuvPt loose his umbrella to the wind. By the time he circled back around it had sank. The next thing i new he anothe one up. Man is he prepared but I think arkansasdrakehunter got shorted out of the shade on it. Blue thunder looked like he was ready for a barbeque with his boat set up. Man these guys know how to do it up right.

I ended up with a limit today but had to work for em. I am not sure how the other boats faired in todays Mardi Gras boat parade. I thought I might see some crappie.com folks there but no one spoke up and I don't know any of you. Hope to hear some reports from you guys that fished there this weekend.

I bet he brings his own umbrella next time! Anyway, that didn't matter....he was catching too many to notice how hot it was! I ate some of those White River Crappie tonite and didn't even filet 'em. Just scaled 'em and cut the heads off.....Out of the ice chest and into the grease. They were out of this world good.

I tried 'em friday ABH only mangaged 20 might have been the front. Most likely operator error had a big time though. Hey I sent you a PM. Yes Sir!!! in temps like these you could sell shade. I've often wondered how them parachutes fair in a little breeze?

Was there Thursday and Friday, my buddy and I caught a limit each throwing road runners, my favorite way to fish. Had a good time, but we had a couple of cloudy mornings to fish so the temps were tolerable. Really enjoyed fish the refuge, just don't get to do it often, so far to go.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.
