Sorry about your striking out. However, as I always say, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work! Maybe next time.

This weekend was one of the worst I've had in a long time, but I guess I wasn't the only one. Several people that I spoke with had about the same luck I did. I started off in White River Refuge at East Moon Lake. It is about 5' deep and absolutely full of gar. Finally hooked 1 crappie there but I was scared to set the hook due to the absolute mauling the gar had been giving me so he fell off as I lifted it out of the water. About 3:30 I gave up and headed over to Horse Shoe at Mellborne. It looked really good but all I could catch were gar. The next morning I headed to the top of the south unit and fished at Moon Lake looked good but trolling wasn't doing it there either. Started to jig around the buck brush and caught a few dinks. At 3:00 I gave up and drove around to look at the other lakes near by. Some were nice while others you could tell would be infested with tooth critters. So I struck out this weekend but I guess thats why they call it fishing and not catching.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.
I sure hate to hear that. Maybe you'll have better luck next time.
It happens to all of us at one time or another. You can throw everything but the kitchen sink at them sometimes and they still wont bite. Better luck next trip.
No I got all my ice in searcy then restocked in Helena Sat. night. No first time to the refuge
Man That heat is tough out there. Persistance is the name of the game, stay after em and u will find em.
