"Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn." - Chuck Clark :D
Looks like you made a good decision to move to another lake. And you hooked that catfish on Crappie gear? Musta been a real good outfit to hold him on the hook long enough to see it. Congrats on a fine day of fishing.![]()
Arkansasbowhunter, it was nice meeting you and bluethunder. Luvpt showed me alot about trolling and I promise you, I will bring my own shade and tackle box next time, Doh LOL. I had a blast and I'm glad I got to see some new country. I will repay the favor real soon. It won't be long and the MS river lakes will be ready to troll. I think out of all the 100 or so people we seen fishing today, bluethunder had the best looking fishing partner by far. Ya'll be safe and thanks again JW, for showing us around. Luvpt, thanks for letting me tag along and thanks for showing me a few tricks of the trade.
hey gabowman. It was a fight on a 16ft crappie pole taboot. It kept peeling that 6lb line off the reel like nobody's business. I wished I would have gotten a picture of the thing but I couldn't get it in the boat as it was too big for my net. the other guys were at the other end of the lake and couldn't offer assistance. Oh well, I have the memory of that fight. I was glad to see it end for sure. Never caught one that big on tackle before.
Ben I really enjoyed having you along. I learned as much from you as you did from me. It was good having a hardcore single-pole jig fisherman in the boat because that puts another angle on things to learn from. I think we all had a great time and I look forward to doing it again. I'm thinking about taking off early tomorrow and hitting a MS river offshoot way down South. I've heard some good reports from down there.
