Well guys, Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling crowded! Never hurts to vent huh? Hope I didn't hurt the business Dan! The 7 ft med heavy rod with the Zara Spook sounds tempting... But I gots a tater cannon I was thinkin bout keeping in the ole boat! That would give slabs and taters a whole new meaning! By the way guys, I was the one on the road hollerin then night y'all put all the tops out "Yea put it right there I'm Gona fish by that tomorrow!

Those fisherman are just that---not good buddies or Sportsman. Last week I was attempting to move to a stand of tall timber. By the time I got my boat untied and the trolling motor going---I guess this guy heard me and moved in on the same spot. he was closer to the spot than I.----I just bellowed a little and found another spot.
Millwood a guy moved in among the Crappie guys with YO-YO,s--that really burnt some tails. I do not move into a spot unless I am invited and I do believe in not getting to close.
I have about avoided crowds but if you are a good fisherman, people will watch you and maybe even follow you.
There is not as much sharing among guys as you would think---I have heard comments, I have my spots---which they mean is baited holes with brush, but ask them where--they just became deaf and have no intentions of sharing.
Go to Lake Erling and see the many many boats in the lake. Some spots may have a dozen boats in the same area. It is a log jam there at times.

it helps to vent but it don't ever get to the ones who really need to here it, the one without any common courtesy. You know the guy in the boat casting within inches of your line that is allready out. Or
the one who drives into the cove making a wake in the no wake zone.

I have had and seen more confrontations out in the lake. I was on Gold point one Summer day and saw two old men in different boats get in to it with paddels and poles.
I estimate I have seen over 30 boats in the Pool before. I used to make a 3 hour drive to the Chicken Coop on Toledo Bend when I lived in Texas just to be one of the 200 boats there. I had to learn how to parallel park in a boat.

I have seen my share as well, and have even been inadvertantly drawn into some of them, However just cause the fish are biting really well in one spot does not mean that every boat in the state needs to converge on that one spot, if they are biting in that spot, then they are biting in other spots as well. it just takes a little initiative to find them. There are to many fisherman that want it easy and dont want to put forth the effort to find fish. When you start crowding in other fishermen then hard feelings are sure to come if that fisherman is a serious fisherman. Serious fishermen tend to protect the spot that they are fishing at the time. ITS CALLED COMMON COURTESY, if a fisherman dont mind a person hoarding in on his/her fishing action and spot then there is not a problem. But there is very few people out there that wants to compete for the same fish and fishing spot. Then that leads to a confrontation and hard feeling.

I remember when if you went up the creek their might be 4-5 boats on a good day , I went one day years back and it was snowing , put my boat in and got stuck in the ramp. Wasn't a soul around so left it ,came back hour or so, later cost me my days catch to get pulled out !! Haven't been in a coupla yrs , too crowded , got to where I go up the Lil maumelle and fish , generally catch a few and never see a soul !

I primarily fish Lake Erling with about 8000 acres to fish I only am crowded when I choose to be I may not be dragging the fish in and if you get close enough I will visit with you but I am fishing and if I was not having a good time I would not be there like I said I may not be killing the fish but I manage to catch fish and enjoy everyone that the fish gods allow me to eat.

Several years ago I was alone, fishing primarily for White Bass on the Saline River. We often get into spots that will have yellow bass. I only keep the very largest of the yellows. On this particular day I had found a hole on the river that seemed to have several really large yellows in it, the river being miles and miles long you would think other fishermen would search out their own spots, along comes two fellows up the river, saw me pulling in a few so they ease right on up there and are soon chunking their lures right on top of mine, very quickly the spot was depleted and then they moved on. I was out by myself had found a few fish and was really enjoying myself but their actions just kind of put a damper on the day.
